Carnival Maritime announces Remco Buis as new Vice President Land Operations

Hamburg, July 11, 2017 – Effective from July 1st, 2017 Remco Buis has joined Carnival Maritime as Vice President Land Operations. His responsibilities will include leading Land Operations as well as Port Operations, driving current and future projects and monitoring the development of a terminal infrastructure required to support new classes of vessels. Remco will also identify key passenger process and guest experience improvements with regards to future requirements and demands.

Dutch-born Remco Buis is a studied Marine Officer with a long track record in Marine Operations. He began his career onboard the ships of Holland America Line. In 2004 he joined Carnival Corporation & Plc as Senior Manager West Coast Port Development and later on Carnival Cruise Lines as Director of Commercial Homeport Operations. Among other things, he oversaw and directed major port development projects and port facility operations. Before now joining Carnival Maritime, Remco worked with Yusen Terminals LLC as Director, Terminal Support, based in Los Angeles. He provided strategic leadership and accountability for all Terminal Support functions including project management, maintenance and rep air activities, safety environmental compliance, IT and business processes.
